To kick off the anniversary year, the Golf I and one of its predecessors from 1969 can be seen at the Bremen Classic Motorshow (Germany). The Golf has moved and impressed the masses since 1974. And with every generation, the compact car has revolutionised and democratised the automotive world. -
Techno Classica 2023: Volkswagen celebrates 50 years of the Passat
Volkswagen will make its return to the Techno Classica this year. The world’s largest classic car fair will be an opportunity for Volkswagen Classic to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Passat using the slogan “Immer wieder neu” (“Always reinventing itself”). The year 1973 saw the launch of the Passat, a brand new model family equipped with a water-cooled engine. It was the start of a global success story that continues to this day. To mark this milestone, five specially selected Passat exhibits will be on show in Essen. -
Season-opener: Volkswagen Classic showcases Italian elegance in Bremen
This year’s classic season opens with a genuine highlight for Volkswagen: from 31 January to 02 February, Volkswagen Classic is celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Karmann Ghia Type 14 at the Bremen Classic Motorshow. Italian elegance combined with solid Beetle technology – represented by the last Type 14 Coupé ever made.
